Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need and want to know
Do I have to pay anything?
No – there are absolutely no costs for you. We cover everything: printing, warehousing, shipping, the ISBN and all technical adjustments needed for wholesale and bookstore distribution. We only receive a share of the profit for each copy sold (see next question).
How much do I earn per book sold?
You receive 50% of the profits. The profit is calculated per unit sold – based on the net retail price, minus wholesale discounts and the actual printing and delivery costs for that specific order. Payments are made quarterly, after wholesalers pay us.
Which bookstores and retailers do you work with?
We partner with all major wholesale networks and retailers. Your book becomes available through over 50,000 bookstores, libraries and online shops worldwide, both online and in-store.
Customers can order your book from virtually any bookstore and retailer that sells books, while retailers can order directly through wholesalers or our system. Here are some of the top chains and online platforms we serve in each region, besides Amazon:

Will my book be available on physical bookstore shelves?
Whether your book appears on shelves is entirely up to each bookstore. They typically decide based on sales performance (online and offline), author visibility, or trending topics. Bookstores and wholesalers have access to sales metrics and use them to guide their decisions.
Publishers can’t force or pay bookstores to stock a title —shelf placement is always at their discretion.
However, any bookstore can order your book, and customers can request it in-store just like any other title.
Online, your book is always available, as bookstores automatically pull listings from industry directories and databases.
Will I earn more by publishing through you?
Yes – by expanding beyond Amazon, you tap into up to 300% more sales potential. Depending on the country, Amazon accounts for only 15–50% of total book sales, while 50–85% happen through other bookstores and retailers.
Additionally, wholesalers and bookstores often place orders upfront – even before end customers do – to test or stock titles, which creates extra income opportunities.
Do you publish every book?
Almost. We prioritize books that already sell well on Amazon or belong to genres with strong market demand. The manuscript must be fully edited and formatted, with a professional cover. We reserve the right to decline submissions that don’t meet our quality standards.
We do not publish:
• Erotica, spiritism/occult or religious books
• Very low-content books like notebooks
• Books with explicit or offensive content
• AI-generated books without human editing or layout – e.g. raw ChatGPT text or unformatted Word documents.
Our goal is to maintain high quality and ensure wide acceptance across the global book trade.
Do you also publish eBooks and audiobooks?
Yes. We offer global distribution for both eBooks and audiobooks.
For eBooks, we require a reflowable EPUB file that meets current technical and accessibility standards (it's different from the simple amazon KDP EPUB file).
If needed, we can create this file for you as an optional paid service.
Your eBook will be available in thousands of stores worldwide, including Apple Books, Google Play, Kobo, Barnes & Noble, Thalia, Tolino, and Scribd.
For audiobooks, we need fully narrated, mastered, and ready-to-publish audio files. Your audiobook will be distributed globally across all major and minor platforms like Audible, Spotify, Apple Books, Deezer, Storytel, and Bookbeat. We can exclude streaming platforms like Spotify if wanted.
Can you help me if my book isn’t finished yet?
Your book must be fully ready for publication – including a complete, edited manuscript, professional layout, and finished cover design. We do not offer ghostwriting, editing, formatting, or coverdesign services.
But we do handle all technical adjustments for bookstore distribution: barcode, spine size, format adaptation (without changing the layout), and updating the imprint with our publisher details (legally required).
My book is already published on Amazon – can I still work with you?
Absolutely. In fact, most authors we work with have already published their book through Amazon KDP.
We simply expand your reach by making the book additionally available in 50,000+ bookstores and online retailers worldwide – without affecting your Amazon listing or sales. You of course keep 100% of your existing Amazon earnings — we don't take any share of those.
Also, with us, there’s no risk of getting your publishing rights suddenly revoked, as it sometimes happens with Amazon KDP account bans. If your Amazon KDP account was suspended without warning or reasonable explanation – like it has happened to many authors – you’re welcome to republish your books with us and stay visible in the global book market. Your books will also be available on Amazon again through us.
I’m already using another distributor or print-on-demand service – can I still join?
Not while your book is listed with another distributor in wholesale channels, due to potential listing conflicts. An exception is Amazon KDP, Amazon Seller Central, or selling through your own website – that’s no problem.
Many authors switch to us because we cover more retailers, offer broader bookstore access, often pay more than other platforms and handle everything. You’re welcome to move your title to our network.
Why shouldn't I publish my book through another distributor or POD platform myself?
Books listed via self-publishing platforms are usually marked as print-on-demand and show the platform as the publisher — bookstores and wholesalers can see that. Many retailers hesitate or reject such listings, as POD books are still associated with lower quality, slow delivery, and unreliable availability.
Most bookstores prefer to work with professional publishing houses like us — not with self-published titles.
We’ve published over 1,000 books worldwide. Retailers know our brand and treat our books as professionally published, which increases acceptance and shelf placement.
Other platforms usually work with only one wholesaler, cover fewer stores, charge upfront fees, and expect print-ready files and metadata.
We cover all major wholesalers, charge no upfront fees, and handle alltechnical adjustments before publishing your book directly through our systems.
My book isn't on Amazon KDP – can I upload it there after publishing with you?
We don’t recommend it. Amazon already sources the book through our wholesale distribution, just like any other bookstore. By not uploading it to KDP yourself afterwards, you gain an additional sales advantage: bookstores – including Amazon – often place larger wholesale orders when there’s demand, rather than waiting for single customer purchases.
Which wholesale distributors do you work with?
We distribute through Ingram in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and many other countries. In Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, we work with Libri, Umbreit, Zeitfracht, and have a direct partnership with Thalia. In France, we use Sodis, and in Spain, Logista Libros.
Do I need my own ISBN?
No, we assign your book an ISBN from our publishing house — this is required so bookstores and wholesalers can order it from us, since we’re the official publisher, not just a distributor.
If your book is already published elsewhere (e.g. via Amazon KDP), it will be reissued with our ISBN. We cannot use ISBNs from you or from any other platform.
On Amazon, the metadata (title, author, description, cover) will match — so the listings are grouped, if you already have a KDP listing. But only the KDP version is shown in search results by title, author, or keywords. The bookstore version can only be found by entering the exact ISBN, and it won't affect your KDP visibility or sales in any way.
Also important: no other retailers appear on your KDP listing — meaning your Amazon sales stay 100% separate and untouched.
How and where is my book printed?
We print through a global network using print-on-demand, and for high-selling German books, we also produce warehouse stock in Germany.
All books are published as softcover with grayscale interior on high-quality paper. No color, hardcover, or special finishes, as these come with much higher costs and significantly lower profit margins.
By default, we use matte cover and white paper — glossy or cream is only used if you specifically request it.
Some authors have a color version already available elsewhere (e.g. on Amazon) and use our black & white softcover edition to expand their reach into bookstores — cost-efficient and fully compatible.
Which trim sizes are available?
In the US, UK, and many other countries, all standard book sizes are possible.
In Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, and Spain, the following trim sizes are supported:
14.8 × 21 cm, 17 × 17 cm, 17 × 22 cm, 21 × 15 cm, 19 × 27cm, 21 × 21 cm, 21 × 29.7 cm
If your book has a different format (e.g. 6×9 inch from KDP), that’s no problem — we'll adjust it to the best matching bookstore size in each region. For example, A5 (14.8 × 21 cm) is a common standard in Germany. We handle the format adaptation ourselves without changing your layout.
Can I change my cover, content, description or price later on?
Absolutely. Just contact us and we’ll update the details as requested.
Important for pricing: In countries with fixed book pricing laws – including Germany, Austria, France, Spain, Italy, and Japan – the price of your book (print and eBook) must be the same across all retailers.
If you also sell your book via Amazon KDP or your own website in those countries, the price must not be changed independently without prior coordination with us.
How can I cancel?
You’re not personally bound to us as an author – only the books you publish with us are contractually tied. As with most publishers, we hold exclusive distribution rights for the legal protection period (70 years after the author’s death), except of Amazon KDP.
We usually outperform other distributors and publishers when it comes to bookstore reach, long-term availability, and payouts – so switching rarely makes sense.
Still, cancellation is possible, for example, if we don't meet our obligations.
